News and Updates

WOW. I've barely written on this thing and my subscription is almost up for the year. So we have a black president and once again, my state has voted against gay marriage. However it has the ignorance to vote yes on a proposition that allows chicken and other livestock to have more growing room before they are slaughtered. In California, chicken > gay. Here are two videos that I found. One is pure emotion of a unbiased party and the other is just kind of funny to me.

I am vehemently for gay marriage for one reason and one reason only, justice. I was raised strictly in Islam which is ideologically opposed to gay marriage. Here's the thing though, how does a gay couple getting married affect me? Why should I give the slightest of a damn? As a person who's become more and more libertarian over the years, I believe in freedoms instead of repression. I should have no power to control the lives of any other person. There's only one reason that people are holding onto after all the logical ones have been disproven: religion. Coming from a religious minority who's under constant pressure from Christians, I'm beginning to believe the Jesus (or Yeshua ben Yosef as the rest of the world and history knows him as) was a total dick. So far, Jesus would support the molestation of children in opposition to allowing priests to get married and he doesn't feel gays should have any rights. I find that kind of odd because he was the same guy that chilled with the lepers, taxcollectors, and prostitutes and thought they should be treated equally right? Of course, gay is where Yeshua would draw the line. That makes total sense. Stop using religion to perpetuate your political agenda. It obviously doesn't work with Muslims. That's all I have to say. It's times like these where I wonder if people even think about things before it comes out of their mouths.

This is what a normal human being's thought process should be: "Gays? They can't get married because thats not natural. They can't start a natural family. I need to stop this. My religion only sanctifies marriage between a man and woman. Oh wait. That's only my religion and my beliefs. I live in America where we allow gender reassignments and divorces at a nearly 50% rate to marriages. This bears no weight on my lifestyle. I would just be a self-righteous asshole in denying fundamental rights to a desperate minority in this state. Never mind. I'll vote no."
Thats how it should be even if you started off against it. It's not about marriage, it's not about religion, it's about rights. Rights. Not privelages.

Sweeeeet. New Layout. As you may have noticed, some things got moved around and there is a new section called "Mixtapes." My newest mixtape is already on there entitled "Instant Classics." Unfortunately, they will all be in WMA format so I don't know if the piece of crap media player that is iTunes will be able to play it. "About Me" has been changed to portfolio in which I will add my sort of credentials as a DJ on there. "Daily Life" is now changed to "Comedy." I should be adding more content there soon. Well I hope you enjoy the new site and tell me what you think by clicking on "Contact."

I know this makes me a horrible blogger, but I can't decide what to write. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to contact me. Just go to the "Contacts" link to get my info. In the meantime, enjoy this short but hilarious video. This kid is why I'm pro-choice:

So I finally got one of my blogs done. I'm kind of a computer nerd so this one was dedicated to that fact, I'm sorry if a lot of you are thinking "wow, I don't know what the hell Drey is talking about" when reading the new blog. It was originally intended to be more of a vent than anything else. For those that may know what I discuss in my article, I hope yo enjoy it. It's titled "I Am a Geek."

I can't believe how long its been since I last updated. A lot of crazy things have happened these past few weeks. For one, I'm 22 now. I went to How Sweet It Is 2008. That was totally not worth it. ATB was so much better at Vanguard in January, and the Shrine is a horrid venue.I felt like I was at a Bosco Tech dance again. Well at least there was this weekend where I DJed CSUF's PASA formals. I have to admit, although I didn't really get to dance or drink that much, it was pretty damn fun. You can't beat DJing. You get paid to do what you love. Well anyways, I'm still only like a quarter done with like 4 different blogs, so I guess I'll just post up some pictures for now.

For anyone that knows Kyle Dineen...

So i was talking to Krystle Larioza and long story short, she likes biting me. I don't have the exact conversation logged but it went something like this:

krystle: im wanna bite you
drey: no
krystle: [CHOMP]
drey: dude wtf.
krystle: ROOOAAAAARRR
drey: you're like a retarded panther.

After 20 minutes of Photoshop, this is what transpired....

I hope this isnt a sign that I'm getting too lazy to update my own website. I'm working on making my own layout instead of using this template and hopefully incorporating some flash onto the site. I'm currently also formatting some old content that I had on my old website. There has been a bunch of crazy/funny stuff that's happened to me lately, so hopefully that will make its way into the "Daily Life" section. I should have my newest blog up within the next 24 hours.

February 21, 2008
It's the anniversary of Malcolm X's assassination. It's black history month for those of you that aren't aware. For some odd reason, I didn't see it posted anywhere on the internet or on the news. Either way, I'm gonna post something about it. I think in the world we live in today, Malcolm X's philosophy applies more than ever. Dr. King is still an inspirational character, but today's times have shown that this civil route has solved nothing. I didn't wanna write too much about this, but I did feel the need to post something about it. I managed to find a clip on Youtube that captures my interest of hip hop, with the commemoration of Malik El Shabazz's (Malcolm X) death.

So I FINALLY made the contact page. If you go to it, I have no idea why I lagged so much on taking care of it. Actually, I was debating on putting my cell number on there but I figured stupid people would call me. If you need to get my number, just e-mail me or hit me up on AIM. I'm on AIM a lot and I check my new e-mail often (because its spam free) so it shouldn't be hard at all to get a hold of me one way or another. My next update will deal with the "Daily Life" portion since I've been adding a lot of serious content onto my blog. I should have a new page or 2 by the end of this week.

February 15, 2008
Argh. I'm lagging on the updates. I actually started on a blog, and then started on another blog before I finished the first one. I kept doing this until I had about 4 documents kinda just sitting there. I finally sat down and finished the first one off so that I could publish it. If you check the "Blog Archive," I put in a new article called "Brotherhood." It explains a lot about how I am the way I am. There are a few pictures in the article itself as well and I'm sure you'll recognize some of my bros. I wanted to put more of the pictures up, but simply couldn't from the fact that I don't have that many pictures. I should have another update coming up within the week. I gotta get on finishing that "Contact" section. Oh the laziness that is me. Well, either way, enjoy.

February 7, 2008
So I finally finished the "About Me" section. I made it kinda short since I think I'll be adding more sections to the site anyways. I might even change the template to fit more stuff into the site. In addition, I also added a blog titled, "Unity Through Diversity, My Ass" to the blog archive page. Yea I know I bitch a lot about stuff, but thats why I separated my blogs from my "daily life." Well anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the new sections. To top it all off, here is a clip that made me laugh really hard when I first saw it. Ooohhh French people.

February 6, 2008
I was gonna write a blog today, but I left work late because I was waiting for some maintenance guys to fix the lighting in the store. Instead, I spent the rest of the night tweaking my desktop. I have a feeling this is what its gonna look like for a while and I'm pretty set on the theme and colors.

I just added "My Origins" to the Daily Life section of the site. I think the Daily Life section is just going to be where I put the more comedic and ironic material on this site. More to come soon and I should be getting the "About Me" section done shortly.

I have absolutely no idea what possessed me to create this webpage, but nevertheless I paid for the bandwidth so I should might as well use it. Please be advised that as this page grows on, it will contain more and more vulgar language and socially unacceptable anecdotes. If you are easily offended by anything, you're probably not that close of a friend to me so you can redirect yourself without much guilt.

I guess this page will serve as mostly my blog. For those of you that are long time friends, I will be resurrecting the conversation/dialogue pages that were kept on my old website. Some are already up and are located in the "Daily Life" section. I'm also in the process of building a script that will allow people to comment on my social commentary as well as a forum to be opened up much later in the year. I know the site is pretty plain as is, but soon enough I'll have some videos and pictures going. So until then..... UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
